Pakistan feels the Mumbai heat

After the 26/11 attack on Indian city Mumbai, the world has realised that the terrorism can not be rooted out unless Pakistan is cleaned up.Taht's why countries like US UK and Russia has warned the pak govt to take stern action agaist the culprits.
Now, it is the duty of Pak gov to clean up its army, ISI and think-tanks in its territory to wake up against terror or else face the treatment given to Afghanistan by the world.
If the Pak gov fails to root out terror camps in its side of the Kashmir and elsewhere, the UN must send the necessary troops for the same activity.Because the world must realise the trained men acts not only against India but pose a bigger threat to all nations.
If Pakistan wants to go on the right direction,It must disown the Kashmir-phobia first and think beyond it.It should annonce Pak is not place for the the Kashmir terrorists. The people of Pak should come forward to bring about this change.

Ghajini is unprecedented success for Aamir

The decision to remake Tamil hit 'Ghajini' in hindi has proved to be fruitful. The story and the screen play is the real hero one should admit. Beyond it Surya in Tamil and Aamir in hindi has worked hard to bring out the best on the screen.Besides,Music in both form are hits before the film release. This is the secret of success.
AR Rehman and Aamir combo has always been special.AR Rehman must be happy with the success of Ghajini because a flop here would be seen as loss of face against Harris Jeyaraj in south.
But the director of the film has to deal cases with the story writer and could have handled in a matured manner.
All the best for the Ghajini team.

Mumbai Attacks and Media role

Indian media is doing a perfect job of awakenig people against terrorism and inducing them for a role playing.Media has recorded the voices of many people including the corporates who are very frustrated and full of anger against a non- functioning government particularly against terror attacks. They do a splendid job.
Here is our view.
The killers of Rajiv Gandhi are praised for their acts in a part of country and they are left unpunished till now.The judgement in parliament attack case is sleeping in the president's bench.
POTA has been repealed. No strong action against pakistan for its support to LeT and others instead politics of train and bus is discussed.
People has been awakened by the recent attacks. They will say good bye to all selfish politicians in future.
Here, we need answer for onething. We see some 80+ years old politicians coming in the wheel chair to fulfill their duties. We appreciate their commitment, but when will our young generation get an opprtunity to try their ideas.
Can't we fix an upper age to politics.Even in US the president can be in the white house only for two terms but here in India politicians are politician till their death. This is unacceptable.Only this norm gives them enormous power .
Please amend the law to restrict any member not to hold office like assembly and parliament for more than two terms.

Blood Transfusion

Replacelment of loss or diseased blood using donor blood is called blood transfusion.
ABO system of blood were discovered by K.Landteiner in 1900.
An antigen called "A" is seen on the surface of RBC's and an antibody "B" is seen in the plasma in some people and they are said to be belonging to "A" blood group.
If "B" antigen is seen on the surface of RBC's 'a' antibody is seen in the plasma it is "B" group.
If both a and b antigens are present on RBC's no antibody is seen in plasma, it s "AB" group.
if no antigen is seen on the surface of RBC's but a and b antigen are seen in the plasma it s "O" group.

"AB" blood group is universal recipient "O" is universal donor.
"A" gp blood can be given to a and ab gp.
"B" gp blood can be given to b and ab.
ab gp can be given to ab only.
o gp blood can be given to all.

Ghajini songs Hindi Vs Tamil

Tamil hit Ghajini is remade in hindi with a new team Aamir and Rehman.
Haris Jeyaraj's tunes in Tamil were block buster hit and still rules the music world.
If you listen hindi version with the lot of expectations ,you will be disappointed. Tamil audience may say sorry but , will have to wait and see how hindi audience reacts to the tunes of ARR.
But, AR Rehman is here to prove his originality and thinking in his own way.
Rehman has done justice .Lets wait how the movie does get response from the people.

Mumbai attacks - What is the solution

Every citizen of India is forced to believe that the congress led govt is soft on terror and is biased towards one community. On the other hand BJP is trying to garner votes on this terrorism plank without accepting the fact that it is also going to suffer due to terrorism in future if at all it captures power at the centre but it is perhaps showing its guts to tackle terrorism by saying it will bring back POTA.
Yes, stringent laws are needed to handle animal like people. One can not equate tiger with a cow. They have to be handled out differently.
Cross border terrorism must be accepted and the countries involed should be taught a lesson for not taking concrete steps to find out the traing camps and arms smuggling in their soil.
Where is Moulana mazood azhar now who was released by the BJP govt to save the people from plane hijack. These kind of people should have been tried at the earliset and hanged like US did to saddam Hussein.
Some may misuse laws but we need a law against terror.

US BailOuts: Rational thinking needed

The worst ever economic tsunami has its origin in United states. It all started with the failure of real estates. It had relational effects with the failure of financial markets.Every day,a new company is looking for a bail out package from the government or else look to file bankruptcy.
The failure of real estate markets is due to more job losses or tough financial crunch like sky-high prices of homes unrelated with the affordability of the customers.
If a government can not create jobs to its citizens any government would face the same economic crisis how ever strong it may be. In last two decades more jobs are created in Asian countries in the form of BPO and there by more jobs were lost in the western countries.
Now if these countries are going to be against BPO and the Asian contries esp.India are going to be worst affected in the coming years.
If bail out is the quick-fix answer to all companies, let all the companies surrender its business to the govt and let nationalise all the business.
Instead of job cuts, there can be salry reduction upto 30% across the board in all sectors.Tax reforms will also be on the card on economic healing.US will have to take bak foot in all war related activities and Space programmes. Govt expenditure is more needed to its own people.
Assurance of safety is the manthra, now.

vedasamiti - A devotional contribution

By the grace of ‘God’, this world and the entire universe is controlled by ‘HIM’. The sound produced through cosmic vibrations in the ‘Space’ were identified by sages through their meditational powers which they passed on to their disciples and reached the earth. The age of the ‘Kali yuga’ could be known through the ‘Almonac’ - Panchangam. The age of the ‘Vedhas’ is not yet to be known. The Vedhas preach a common aspect. ‘One should sincerely concentrate on a particular activity.’ At any cost one should not act without knowledge, such an action is futile. If one learns and chants the Vedhas, it not only benefits him, but also this entire world, keeping this in mind, numerous great scholars like Kanchi Sri Paramaachariyar and other’s have strived and worked hard towards it. Our Vedha Samithi has stood in line to match with the earlier traditions in upholding the virtues.

Vedha Samithi was legally registered in the year 2005. It conducts various vedha programmes throughout the year.
Donations are accepted.
Donations by way of Cheque or DD may kindly be drawn in favour of “VEDA SAMITHI”. Donations are eligible for exemption under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961

Time for Dravid to say good bye?

Sourav announced retirement before the series and Anil Kumble in the middle of the match called it the day.Other seniors left under scan are Sachin,Dravid and Laxman.
Of these,Sachin and VVS are amongst runs and dont show any discomforts.
But Rahul Dravid finds something wrong in the pitches and fails to score runs and in poor form.
May be it is his time to fix a time table to his retirement. After all these players have played for the country for more than a decade. They must find a suitable replacements in the team and recommend to the selectors.
We may miss Dravid after the Endland series if his poor form continues. He has nothing to prove to the selectors but he has to pave way for the next generation player to occupy his place.

Ganguly and VVS Laxman not utilised at their forts

Sourav Ganguly retired from international cricket after fighting for his place to prove something to the world. He was one of the finese captain India has ever found. He raised the level of Indian cricket. Under him India were able to win at foreign soils. Some how he missed his target in the middle and found enemies around him.
He is a fine one day player. He should have realised it much earlier and should have given up playing test matches.
similarly VVS Laxman is strong in test matches and he should have been given an upperhand before Sourav.Remember in many matches VVS played down after Sourav and yet he was able to score fifties. In a way ,VVS was sacrificed for other players like sourav and Dravid.

RIL stock going towards 600-700 level

Some analysts predict that Reliane stock has preached the important level of 1400 and many investors holding this stok for a very long time. They are looking to come out of this stock at a comfort level. Growing panic in the market and given poor economic conditions across globe may push investors to sell stocks desperately. This may lead the stock reaching a shocking level of 600. It means bear market is yet to show its ugly face here and Nifty may well go below 2000 in next couple of months.

Rajni's selfish attitude

Last week Rajnikanth met his fans after many attempts by the fans in his ragavendra mahal and preached a lot to his fans.
He made it clear he is going to take a decision on his future plans after finishing his costly film 'Robot' directed by Shankar.
But, he avoided to say precisely if he is not interested in coming to politics or not. He knows very well that the moment he declares he is not into politics he may well lose some of his fans switching to other probables. These are the people who want some political identity in the society in the name of Rajni fan.
Rajni knows politics is not in his gambit and honesty has to be sarificed a lot. More over he has to take on other leaders whom he has many respects.
Anyhow he has fixed a timeframe to take his decision and that is after the release of 'Robot' and let us wait.

Barack Obama - History rewritten

The struggle Martin Luther King started 4 decades ago ended on November 4,2008, when the people of United states decided to elect this afro - american Barack Obama. Yes, the dream has come true.
US has set an example to stop hating people on races, color and relegion. This is the victory day of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and the likes who fought against racism in the past.
Still people are fighting each other for many reasons in different part of the world.
Time has come to turn towards America and rethink.
Once again US has proved to be a place where dream comes true.
World salutes US and Obama.

Relief Fund for Srilankan Tamils

On going war between the Lankan army and LTTE has caused many problems for the innocent civilians. Voices are raised against the war without giving solution to the ethnic crisis that last over 30 years.
Tamilnadu government has set up a relief fund to help the civilians. Cheques and DD s in favour of ' Srilankan Tamils relief fund' can be sent to chief secretary, Government of Tamilnadu,chennai-600009.
Red cross ,UN office and others will be used to distribute the relief packages in the war affected area.
Stopping the war temporarily will not help solve the crisis.Leaders from Tamilnadu should raise voices unanimosly against LTTE to force them to participate in the negotiation table with the government.

LTTE must apologise

LTTE must apologise for its inability to solve the crisis in Srilanka and find a peaceful solution to the Ealam cause. There is no over all support to LTTE after it targeted its own people who want to talk to the Lankan government for a peaceful solution.
30 years of struggle have not reached any next stage but problems are the same.
The general acceptance outside the Island is Srilanka cant be split into two countries. So Eala nadu is not possible.
Now, the peace loving tamil leaders responsblity is to form a group among themselves to negotiate with the government and find a political formula to the crisis.
The major problem is the constitution which is to be changed for the new generation. Sinhalese people have to change their attitude towards the Tamils and recognise them as the citizens of the same nation.
New power sharing formula must accept people of all group to rule the nation.Equality for all to be maintained.
If Buddhists are not prepared for this , No one can save the nation but will drown into sea of blood due to war. Buddha preached Peace and Love but you breached it.

War in Srilanka and politics in India

The ethnic Tamil group in the Island Srilanka are suffering from an un ending war between the lankan army and the terrorist group LTTE. LTTE was once allowed to have camps in India and had open suport from Indian political leaders.Things changed after it killed the young leader Rajiv Gandhi against his Indo-Lanka deal. Now, it has only few support in India and that too not open.
Now, the war in Lanka is at its peak as the army is capturing all LTTE held positions in the North and North east ,it is trying to mobilise support from India especially Tamil leaders.
The politicians are also very quick to make use this as an oppurtunity to re-align themselves in Indian politics.
Indian government should realise that it can not intervene in internal politics of other countries. The Indian government should ask the Tamilnadu leaders to issue statements asking LTTE to surrender with its weapons and to prepare for negotiations with the Lankan Gov.
It has to clarify that the war is against terrorists who are unwilling to talk and who killed many tamil leaders who wanted peace.
So Mr.Karunanidhi , Dont threat UPA gov instead ask Prabhakaran to surrender.
Mr Rajabakhse can invite leaders like Vaiko from Tamilnadu to form a negotiating group to find a political solution to the never ending fight in the Island.

Whether Nifty has any support level or not?

It is said 3800 is the support level for the nifty. But after crossing it nobody is able to figure out what the next level will be.It is free fall from there.Whether 3000 will be sustaind? Now, we are looking at corporate earings,Regulator measures to see not up run but consolidation. In these days, Technical levels are not so important just a time passing tool.
But, investors looking for the next 2 - 3 years will have look this as an oppurtunity to buy.Ofcourse they are to be new entrants as old lions are licking their injury.

Now, Job Cuts in INDIA

For the last five years, India is boasting of creating more jobs thanks to liberalisation policy. But,today it seems the party is over. There are problems all over. Corporates warning margin pressures, employee costs, input costs ,inflation etc.
Today's announcement from Jet airways is a shocker not only to Jet employees but to all. It has decided to terminate 1000 employees including top engineers as a measure of cost efficiency.
If this is going to be the trend in the industry then India will have to suffer more than west countries.
The Finance Minister as usual will issue a statement 'Our Fundamentals are strong'. If, so why the corporates are unable to get the confidence of the investors. Does n't this show something is wrong somewhere.

Markets and US Elections

It is taking a long time to decide who the next US president will be.It is on a routine. But,People in the streets are looking eagerly who'll be the next. They are tired of talking and hearing.Let the scene be over and see the climax.
What is the procedure one can not understand as an outsider. For the last several months they are talking about this and still waiting to get the result.Let it be Obama or Mckaine.Let it be Democrats or Republicans but US election result seem to be the end point of the market downfall.People may hope the next Government will have new think tanks and take new economic initiatives to build hope and bring back the charm.
One thing is clear. The Bush administration completely failed in this front.Bush's only one achivement is dethowing the Saddam Hussein gov but hanging him in hasty manner and failure to substantiate the Iraq war do not go in the way of Bush.
War is never a solution.
Lets see how new US gov approaches the world.

Market crash :Ban short selling in stock markets as a relief measure

In the last several weeks investor across the globe would have lost sleep and peace by stock market crash.Markets proved to be a high risk zone.
Damage done is too much and it will take a long time to get energy for the up move.
Short sellers made money a lot but their numbers are small. The regulators could have contained the downfall if they banned short selling of many scripts for a short period of time and then re-introduce.
This measure is hardly required only to bring confidence among investors. Regulators fear that it will harm trading activities and reduced volumes are unnecessary because its first target is to save investors from losing their capital. This is not the time to allow trading as all governments are announcing relief packages for economy re-structuring.
So Investors want Ban Short on selling in the cash market and let derivatives be traded as usual for atleast 3 months and see the effects in the stock markets.

BCCI made 1000 crores rupees and untaxed

Media reports say that Board of cricket control of India has made a profit of one thousand rupees by selling television rights and sponsorships. But,It has not filed income tax returns for last several years.
People of India wonders how a so-called non profiting organisation can make such a large money and escape from government taxes.
There are people fighting for the posts in BCCI not to encourage cricket but for the money they can fraud on.
The Indian government should accept the reality and immediately bring BCCI into tax brackets and earn its share of money for the benefit of common man.
The other cricket playing nations should also fight for thier shares because without them BCCI can not sell cricket in India.

Sixteen-year-old A P Hithendran was injured in a bike accident on Saturday when he tried to avoid an oncoming bus. He was declared brain dead, his doctor parents Ashokan and Pushpanjali decided to donate his organs.

Doctors at the hospital harvested Hithendran’s heart, kidneys, corneas and liver. While his corneas were sent to Sankara Nethralaya, transporting his heart from Teynampet to the Mogappair hospital was a race against time. Their outside time limit was twenty minutes.

India/ Home loans unaffordable - own house still remains a dream

India/ Home loans,Flat prices unaffordable - own house still remains a dream
The cities like Mumbai,Bangalore, chennai are still considered for MNC investments and favoured for its geographical locations, land availability, reasonable employee costs etc. But, the problem is getting their employees near its office. The workers finding it hard to find a house in the city and hence he has spend a lot for travelling purpose alone. The time management is another tough task. Many workers have to travel atleast one and half hours to reach the office.and ,the rents are sky rocketing one can not imagine.
That is when he considers buying a house of his own.Five six years back the property prices were reasonable. But now even a software professional, who is considered making lot of income ,say a minimum of rs.25000 ,has to think a lot if he can repay the loan. The low budget house near the city itself costs Rs.30 lacs.Imagine he puts 5 - 7 lacs from his pocket rest he takes loan. His repayment EMI comes about 18-20 thousands plus. How can he live with the remaining salary. So only people whose salary is more than 45-50 thouands could afford home loans at this time that is where atlast two are working in the family.
No solution is seen right before us.Can the goverment intervene is a question mark?.
The government can stop selling the property through the power of attorny by which one can control third party intervention who increases the prices in the middle.
Next, it can tax heavily for high cost buildings transactions there by forcing to reduce the prices.
Also, the banks should hike home loan interest rates only for amounts taken more than 20 lacs.
The property prices should fall more than 30% and interest rates should also come down for any one to consider taking loans from the banks.
Till then ,own house will still remain a dream for all.

Credit card problems

The following is the experience of one Barclay credit card holder ,found somewhere in a web forum: Read and beware of credit card usage.
...............................................................................................................................................................
I was called up by barclaycard on 25th june 2008 and they told me that you have been selected for barclay card priority circle offer. You have to pay Rs 5000 + service tax next to next statement..
My billing dateis 5th july 2008 so it should get generated on 5th august 2008. I wastold that i would recieve the gift vouchers for life time free somedinning discounts and other gift vouchers for travel and all. Also a free gift (A travel bag) worth Rs. 2000 will be free. I will also enjoy a grace period of 20 days to return the same. I have not recieved anygift as of yet and they have charged me in the bill of 5th july. When i called up and asked why i have been charged when i have not recievedanything... they told me that you have to first make the payment andthen you ll recieve the vouchers. On hearing this I asked to cancel theoffer but they denied and said it cannot be cancelled. I think this is too much fraud on the barclaycard side and they dont even bother... Even the customer car is bogus some of the number do not even work andthe bsnl number i have to try for 1 or 2 hrs then it gets connected. Also I am having a 21 days grace period currently. This has been mentioned in there website of barclaycard.Clause number 2b, that this particular offer is voluntary and user canalso quit the offer in the 21 days grace period. They can withdraw theoffer when the user is in 21 days grace period. But when i called thecustomer care they said you can’t withdraw/cancel the offer.
............................................................................................................................................
It is to be understood that for ordinary credit card users this priority circle is of no use ,if the company debits the charges against the wish of the card holder ,it is against law and sueable offence.
The concerned authorities like RBI,should intervene immediately and should pass necessary orders to restrict credit card issuers to debit these kind of charges only after obtaining a written and signed document from the users.

India:Two wheelers/ car sales heavily hit

In view of growing inflation, which peaked to 12.75% ,the Reserve bank of India took some hard measures to curb liquidity of money supply. It increased CRR and repo rates. The banks have to park more money with the RBI.
Most banks have left the two wheeler industry in view of high interest rates as the lenders find it hard to collect EMIs from the customers.Earlier the private banks like ICICI had more dealers to loan arrangement for two wheeler segment. Now it has reduced its presence in the segment.
The automobile dealers demand 50% to 60% initial deposit to approve loans.
Customers are left with no choice but to wait until interest rates cool down.
But, the industry is hit and the sales are down already.

Kashmir Issue : Poor response from the Indian gov.

The Kashmir is always a difficult issue for the Indian gov. Whenever a problem arises , the Indian gov is struggling to take a decision on which side it should support. Taking a neutral position will not help resolve the problem. There is always Pakistan behind Kashmir, the seperatists, pro azadis, pro Indians, Hindus, Muslims,Buddhists all are to be satisfied when tacking the issue.
The current crisis started when the ruling gov first allotted land for the Amarnath yatris safe passage to amarnath cave temple, then refused the allotment on pressure from the alliance partner PDP of Mufti mohammed syed.
The people of Jammu and Ladakh are tired of Pro-Indipendent kashmir agitations and cross border terrorism. The people expect a peaceful solution. The gov of India fatally failed to find a solution the burning issue. It is neither talking to the local people Hurriats nor Pakistan with solid proposals. The gov wants free trade between both sides, wants people to move freely between borders but afraid of talking about the status of Kashmir.
The pro azadi group must understand there is other side of Kashmir which in Pakistan occupation and its status is not known either.
Former PM Atal bihari Vajpayee initiated dialogue but the talks were not continued until an acceptable solution is discused.
Since Pakistan is living in danger ,the Indian side should first engage in dialogues with all local Kashmiri people to find an amicable solution.
People wants peace in the valley.

India/Tamil movie Kuselan ended as Nightmare.

The superstar of south India ,Rajini Kanth's 'Kuselan' failed to attract crowd as against the hope that it will do better than his earlier movie 'Chandramuki'.
Even though the movie has a stong story ,original from Malayalam movie, the film makers did a wrong move by projecting Rajini in the front.Rajini himself clarified before the release his part is only 25% which the producers should have told to the distributors and theatre owners. They just wanted to make huge money by betting on Rajini.
His hardcore fans will not be satisfied by these kind of movies. They just want him rocking throughout the movie.
The film makers must understand ,the story went good in malayalam because the hero Mammooty's role was well within the need and the story was the selling product. Here they wanted to sell Rajini's charishma, which went against hope.
A common man may still like the movie but one can not expect the typical success of Rajini film.

Pakistan:Musharaf becomes an unwanted man

General Pervez Musharaf toppled the democratic gov led by Nawaz Sherif in 1999 and acquired power ,later becomes the president of the country. He suspended the constitution twice ,expelled the former prime minister ,dismissed the supreme court judges. Western countries initially talked against undemocratic Musharaf ,later used him to serve their own self goals. They thought Musharaf would be able to control the militant groups operating in and around Pak. But, how a pro militant army chief could control terror outfits. The US and other countries terrifically mis interpreted the nature the militant groups who were once supported by US itself to act against India, Afghanistan ,Russia and other anti US countrie's now becomes US and its allied countries direct enemies.

In India , former BJP gov did the mistake of inviting the general for peace talks knowing very well that he was solely responsible for the Kargil war.Only then ,other countries acknowledged him as a democratic person.
But he has proved a power hungry person time and again. He did not quit his army chief posts as claimed by him,did not conduct elections within the time frame set by him. Even after the present governments proposal to impeach the president , he shamelessly says he will not quit.
Mr.President ,You have become an unwanted person in pakistan.Understand that you have to take the same medicine you gave to Nawaz Sheriff. The western countries may bat for you but you can't be the ever lasting president of Pakistan.Better prepare yourself of your own treatments.

How human beings failed to save the nature ..

Beware ..God will punish us one day.

Composer Ilayaraja appearing on silver screen?

Some press article reported Ilayaraja is making an appearance in a song in the film 'Dhanam' in which he scores music. Not sure of it.His son Yuvan has already done it in a film some years ago and the father is following suite now.
It will be interesting to see the music messiah on the screen also.

What Rajnikanth learnt from hokenal protests?

Before the release of his film 'Kuselan', Rajni clarified to his kannadika fans that he learnt a lesson from the issue and he would not commit the mistake again, after some kannada organisatons protested against him.
Now, Tamilnadu counterparts Bharathiraja,Director Seeman,DK veeramani and some others have issued statements against Rajni for their part, all for publicity stunt we all know.
What are the lessons Rajni must have learnt:
1.He should not speak aggressively in public meetings like a politician.
2.He came to know he has some envious enemies in tamil industry like Sathyaraj who openly criticised his religious sentiments and his fans.
3.Film industry protests are made to settle some persons political wishes and Rajni should not participate actively.
4.Without knowing the consequences , he should not make any statements.
5.Biggest lesson is learnt from Karunanidhi. within hours of film industry protests for continuation of the Hokenakel project, the CM announced the project is stopped till the karnataka elections just to help the congress of any embarassment and to retain the alliance, without any respect given to the various protests in the state.
The lesson is You can bow down to anyone for your own cause.

Music: Harris Jeyaraj sounds better than A.R.Rehman

After the tamil hit of Minnale ,Harris Jeyajaj has established his own kind of music in the southern states of India. It looks simple, yet powerful soul music. Every film he worked ,he has given lot of melodies. One might say, he lacks variations, but he has understood the need of the film industry very well and giving music accordingly. He has followed the quality of A.R.Rehman but melody is different from the other. The lyrics is followable ,one can murmur it easily. Each of his venture is a musical success, but some numbers have repetitive patterns. He is yet to prove a success in Bollywood.

Talking of Rehman ,he has deviated a lot from his early day musics. He is trying to follow the world music. His mix is good but many times it becomes very difficult to follow from common man's perspective.

Tamil Movie :Rajni's Kuselan a review

The much awaited Rajini's Kuselan hits the screens on 31 st July.Along with Rajini also stars Nayanthara,Pashupathi,Meena, Vadivel and many known faces.Music by G.V.Prakash,the nephew of AR.Rehman.Pyramid saimeera releases the film.Produced by K.Balachandar's Kavithalaya and Seven arts. The film will be another feather in Rajni's crown after many years of commercial films.Though the film is remade on malayalam hit katha parayum pol,the director P.Vasu has given more importance to Rajni unlike the orginal.

Pashupathi who is running a poor life with his wife Meena and three children in a village is a barber.Rajni who is now a super star in movies comes to the village for shooting.Interestingly, both Pashupathy and Rajni are friends in early days. When the whole village is visiting the super star ,pashupathy is afraid of meeting him due to his poverty. But,in a school function Rajini recalls him and reminds how pashupathy helped him to reach chennai by giving money selling his ear ring. The scene would bring tears every viewers. How the friend are united is the rest of the film.Vadivelu as usual proves he is now the comedy king.GV.Prakash's BGM and songs has come good.Over all it will be satisfying film for Rajnikanth as he is forced to act in commercials these days.Pashupathy has done his job wonderfully.

Hats off to the entire Kuselan team.

The police has got some leads and expect more arrests.

RBI announces rate hikes ,Target Reduce-Inflation

India on alert after Blasts in two cities

Indian cities were put on high alert on Sunday after at least 50 people were killed in two days of bombings that hit Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
16 bombs exploded in Ahmedabad on Saturday, killing at least 45 people and wounding 161, a day after 7 blasts in Bangalore killing a woman.

Two more unexploded car bombs were found in the city of Surat on Sunday, one of the world's biggest diamond-polishing centres.

A group called the ‘Indian Mujahideen’ claimed responsibility for the blasts on Saturday. The same group said it carried out bomb attacks in Jaipur that killed 63 people in May. It also targets Maharashtra CM and Mukesh Amabani and Narendra Modi for anti muslim activities.

But Govt suspects terror groups from Pakistan and Bangladesh are behind a wave of bombings in recent years, with targets ranging from mosques and temples to trains.
Indian mujahideen might well be the mask of Lashkars and SIMIs.

"The entire nation, including major metro cities in India, have been put on high alert and they have been asked to step up security in vital installations," a Home Ministry spokesman said.

People are warned about unclaimed baggages and suspicious objects.

This is the first time that Hospitals were also targetted showing the arrogance and ugly face of terrorism.
Two doctors were killed in the hospital in a blast in which at least one bomb was tied onto a gas cylinder. Charred motorcycles and bicycles were shown outside. TV showed victims writhing in pain and covered in blood on hospital floors.

The other bombs were in Ahmedabad's crowded old city dominated by its Muslim community. Many of the bombs were packed into metal tiffin boxes, used to carry food, and stuffed with ball-bearings. Some were left on bicycles.

Police found two unexploded bombs in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The state Government ordered the closure of all shops, cinemas and markets and told people to stay indoors.

Since both Karnataka and Gujarat are BJP ruled states ,other BJP ruling states like Madhya pradesh, Himachal are also put on high alert.
CM Narendra Modi has asked the centre to convene all states CM's meeting immediately to chalk out the plan to tackle terrorism in a combined manner.
Unless the global watch dog US realises and accept Pakistan as the prime source and origin for all terrorism and act against it, the whole world is going to suffer more casualities.

Bangalore Blasts: Thinking the other way

Police has said that the blast attacks were to create panic among the people.July 25– seven low-intensity blasts in Bangalore on Friday afternoon, killing two people, one being woman and injuring at least 20 others in the second high-profile attack on an Indian city in 10 weeks.
The explosions were on high roads, market pace,Bus stops clearly targeting the innocent people. The motive is unknown immediately.
But,if one analyses the timing the current blasts and some other earlier blasts, that the were always preceded by some political turbulances in the country. This time the trust win of UPA gov among cash for votes/abstaintions scam.
The police will come out and say ISI is behind the work. HUJI or Lashkar may have done it. Whether they flew from pakistan ,did the attaks and went back to pak.It is the local men who are assisting the terrorists. The blame game can not help identifying the culprits behind. One has to conclude that some culprits are helping the politicians to deviate people from talking about cash for votes scam.
It is time to realise that terrorists are hand in hand with the political culprits inside the country and police will be clueless to nab them except to release some photographs of the suspects.
How many terrorists have been arrested in the past several years and brought down under law? Almost none.
Sadam was caught and hanged for global terrorism by the Islamic gov assisted by the US. But here Afsal's case is pending before the gov even after proved to be behind the Indian Parliament attack.Whether 'all the muslims in India are supporting Afsal and we will lose vote if we execute him' is the assesment of the UPA gov.Shame on the gov. Let them learn lessons from the Americans on fighting terrorism.

Nifty resistance 4500-4600

It will be difficult to cross 4500-4600 level for the nifty.Even though UPA has won the trust vote and decks are cleared for the nuke deal with US,still the oil price, inflation pressures will continue for the coming many months. So one can not expect much from the profits side of the companies as the gov is forced to take monetary actions. So One has to wait before taking a medium term call.

Nuke deal :companies stands to gain

Reliance power,Ntpc,GMR,L&T,Tata power,BHEL,ABB and the like companies will beneft from the deal as the gov may bring in new rules for the participation of private companies in the production of nuclear power. The gov alone can not invest much for the nuclear plants that are reqired to produce huge MWs of power by 2020.So investors with long term view should slowly accumulate these cap.goods and power stocks in the coming years.

Kalaignar Karunanidhi must find a successor immediately

The veteran leader from the south,Dr.M.Karunanidhi,leading a party with lot of in fights on who should be the successor. The DMK founded by Anna, seperating from Dravidar kazhagam is now totally controlled by the family of kalaignar. With the introduction of kanimozhi into the DMK politics, the finding of successor takes more importance. The fight was visible among Mk.Stalin,Mk.Alagiri and the ousted Dayanidhi Maran. Now Kanimozhi has joined the probables. The high command should decide sooner than later, the successor within the life time of Karunanidhi as the party is vulnerable for splits after him.Kalaignar should show maturity to retire from public life like Jyoti Basu, Sankaraiya,Farooq Abdulla and many others and see how the party functions without him. After all the world is not for one man.The party functionaries should convince the party about the need of the hour.

Nifty should sustain above 4175 to buy now

Nifty has sucessfuly moved for the 3 successive trading days to touch 4150 level. But the coming days are crucial as the parliament faces trust vote.if one wants to enter the market now, should wait to see whether the level is maintained to consolidate before moving further. It is an unlkely situation to surpass the resistance level of 4160.One has to take careful decisions.

Will Somnath Chatterji prove as a Communist?

The Speaker of Indian parliament Mr.Somnath Chatterji is a veteran communist leader from west Bengal. He refused to resign from the post before the trust vote on July 22.He is right why should he resign before vote after all this is not a party post of congress. But he will get a chance to prove as a true communist. If both the ruling and opposition parties get the same number of votes, say 270, then the the speaker holds the key.He can vote on the trust vote. That moment will be very interesting, the country is keen to know if he is for the nuke deal or not.Let us wait till July 22nd.

Chennai:Psycho Killer back in action

Psycho is back again. He is targeting the night watch men in the city.He has already killed 4 persons in the same manner. How is it possilbe in city like chennai every one wonders. He first attacks the person in the head then fire his body with kerosine.
Whether it is the work of a single psycho or it is anti social elements that are behind the killings, police is investigating.
The city is no more safe if police fail to arrest the culprit quickly. One can can see a lot of persons look like beggars, mentals around the city ,around bridges, parks, temples.why not the police take action before the next casuality.

Don't buy any stocks till UPA wins trust vote

July 22 is very important.UPA gov is seeking a trust vote on that day.If the gov falls market will react badly. one can try buying 3900 puts. But,If the gov survives it will boost the sentiment especially stocks in energy sector will see good buying.Stocks like ntpc, rpower, tatapower, rel energy ,bhel, rcom all will react positively. The presence of Samajwadi party in UPA is negative for RIL .

No good news waiting for stock markets 2008

Unless Oil price falls below 100 dollars ,no economic growth can be expected. All the countries are going to suffer including oil exporting countries. If US and Israel attack Iran that will be the worst news.Job seekers find hard to get right job due to slow down.Agri growth is not as expected due to failing rain.
All these concludes 2008 will not be a good year for the stock markets all over the world.

Nifty resistance

Nifty faces resistance arond 4170-4200 and has support around 3750-3800.
Time for results season and look for inflation. If it crosses 13% more pain will be seen in the markets irrespective of current results as RBI will be forced to take more monetary policies.Interest rates will be hard to digest. We may be going 10 years back.Remember we had 16 -17% interest rates regime 15 years back.

Get indebth knowledge about Nuclear Power

Left parties breath easy atlast

The much awaited decision came atlast from Prakash Karat, the CPM leader.Left will withdraw support to the UPA gov.The left were very uncomfotable working with cong for the last 4 years since they are fighting directly in all the state where communits are powerful. The only binding force was the anti BJP ism. But, neverthless ,the left has accepted the cong policies for many years.Infact, they should have come out very stongly when the gov failed to check in the sky rocketing price rise of important commdities. What are the positives from the gov, left could claim. It is rural employment scheme (remain to be seen if executed properly) ,loan waiver to farmers ( will go unnoticed in a few years after fresh loans issued),stopping of some disinvestment plans(will get done from new gov with full majority) ,stopped BJP from acqiring power(prsent situation favours BJP to win the next elections).
Any how, they took the decision to break away from cong and they can safely go back to the people to garner votes that is anti cong and anti BJP and to form third force.
All these efforts will end once the next elections are over and the results will reflect the same as of today or either favour BJP.

Foul Play by Mulayam Singh Yadav

No one could have expected that Mulaym singh and his samajwadi party would join the Congress wagon till recently. This is called political opportunism. They shell shocked the communists by alignig with UPA ,saying,in the interest of the nation to save the nuke deal. But, people could easily understand the SP and Congress position. The UPA desperately looking for support from any side to go ahead with its nuke deal and to save gov till the end of this year.Congress knows that it can not gain more seats ,forget the power, in UP without other party's support.BSP has been critical of Congress. And for Mulayam ,to check BSP he needs the congress. So both parties find this is the right time to come together for each others gain.Congress may have written off the state UP like Tamilnadu where it gave the rule to dravidian parties after Kamaraj and playing politics just to get some more MP's to its favour. But,realising the reality is the right step.In UP,cong is reduced to a smaller party after BSP,SP and BJP.Not even Rahul and Sonia were able to attract people. If the alliance clicks it is good for the cong, to checkmate BJP.Because UP has more no of MP seats and it reduces the dependene on parties like PMK,DMK and other small parties. Will be interesting to see what BSP will do ,whether it will join the NDA ?
On the whole UPA suddenly rised with strenth and and once again proved the politics is only a power game inwhich no one is shy of shifting sides for their personal goals.

Good news for stock market if UPA gov survives

Dr.Manmohan singh may survive the floor test in parliament if left parties withdraw support to the UPA gov because of the new emerging sitation.Samajwadi party of Mulayam has come forward to support if is is satisfied with the deal.It is a decision to checkmate Mayawathi gov in UP.But the UPA still needs some more MPs to cross the 272 mark.Since many MPs would want to complete the full term it is possible they extend their tacid support to the gov.So there may not be an early election this year. All depends on Mulyayam's decision.Whatever it is stable gov is a good news for stock markets.

Market going down down and down

As expected 4000 is broken today but going to be volatile throughout the day, when will the market stabilise is the question everyone is interested.3600-3750 will be a reasonable bottom to start buying if one is bullish then.As a trader one should be be looking for a pull back after a steep fall as the chart suggests. But the overall scenario should also be supporting the buying decision like reduced oil heat ,good monsoon, good food production ,stable dollar etc.Right now, cash is the better option but waiting to buy.

Election is the best option before Dr.Manmohan singh and Sonia Gandhi

The present UPA gov is not able to take decision on its own and for all they have knock the doors of communists and the communists shutting their doors fearing UPA will occupy their home ,the shameless Congress is tolerating all the comments just to stay in power.Infact ,Cong should have opted for elections once the PM signed the pact with BUSH since it knows very well that lefts cant go hand in hand with the US.Now, the time has come to say goodbye to the current parliament and seek fresh mandate from the people to go ahead with the nuclear deal since a minority gov can not decide the future of the country.Even if the cong knows that it can not come back to power easily in the present circumstances ,this is the best option to escape from the deal and save its face. No Indian can accept that the country will not test atom bombs if the deal is On.Our intention is not to have bombs but we can not give up our right to self defend in case it is necessary.BJP will never give up its stand on India's rights and so it can not support the deal. And many other parties are against the deal.So in the present situation Election is the best option to save the country from the crisis rather than talking to each other unnecessarily.

Markets in pure DownTrend stream

With every trading day,the nifty and sensex hitting new bottoms clearly says that we are in down trend.Professional traders are looking for shorting opportunities every day.No good news is available to stop the down go.So dont get strapped by small recoveries to buy any new stocks.Find an opportunity to exit ,if possible. Otherwise, dont try to be smart to beat the market. If nifty goes below 4100 and stays there for a while, the sentiment will get weaken further ,we may have to see 3750 soon. You may be able save by buying some puts but it is very difficult to predict now.Oil price is the culprit for all wrongs. The Gov. is not taking any effort to contain oil price.Even though it is global issuse, the gov. should find a way to address the problem. Can't the gov take a tough stand against the nations which export oil.

UPA Vs Left:Nuke deal creates political instability

Let the communists withdraw support to the UPA gov, lest it mars the sentiments all over the country about the UPA gov.The PM has confirmed it will be face loosing if we back from nuke deal, and it will be tough to enter new deals in future by any gov.Sonia and communists must understand Elections are the only solution to escape from the deal as it can pass the ball to the next gov safely. But,the congress and its allies knows ,they cant grab the power again because of inflation, oil price etc.If UPA decides to change the PM and continue office ,it will be a shame and expose the power hungry of Sonia and cong.Let them face the election bravely instead of succumbing to the pressure tactics applied by left to sace its votes in WB/Kerala states.
Congress should teach a lesson to the left parties by joining hands with BJP only left ruled states for not allowing the gov to perform its duties and convince the people LEFTs are against the nations growth.Cong and BJP should come together with the slogan VOTE either BJP or Cong not other parties. It will help the nation moving forward .
Lets wait if we can see a BRAVE Dr Manmohan Singh or he is going to prove only he was acting as a doll in the hands of Mrs.Sonia Gandhi .

SOS-Help Indian Finance Minister!!!

Oh He is really struggling. We dont know what to do is the answer from him.Yes It is our finance minister who promised a lot along with great Dr.Manmohan singh who is considered reformer of Indian economy. But,they both are dancing to the tunes of global environment.FM announced rs.60000 crores waiver then extended 10000cr more(from his pocket) to the farmers happily. He supported all stupid freebies schemes like color tv,gas stove,2/kg rice, free land of TN gov.Now what happens, are they happy.
He is now telling us he wants to reduce demand side as we could not find enough supply in all categories(food ,steel, cement, oil etc).
What was he doing for all these days.He should have expected it before and took all monetary measure instead of allowing inflation to touch 11% and allowing it to rise further. As a prudent FM he should have advised against election related populist schemes.
What ever steps he takes now ,will take its own time to reflect on the economy.Now.what is the message FM giving to the people--is this?
Stay there ,.
Stay at rented house dont buy a new house bcos interest rate will be more
dont buy cars/bikes ,cant afford oil price /EMI
Dont invest You will not get any returns from money markets.
Dont eat much if you buy more rice ,oil, wheat the price will get increase.

Anyway,He is in great stress thanks to inflation, next election, communists, other
allies.
Is there anyone to help him??

Nifty,Sensex nearing bottom, get ready for shopping

The hammered markets are nearing its bottom, thanks to all the bad news, sentiments, crude price, inflation, slow growth rate, politics etc.
the worst possible target for the nifty is 3700-3750 from where the market will see a tsunami kind of up move. But nifty may not go below 3950-4000.
Once elections are over in US and India, the markets will only see up direction.
So get ready for shopping from now onwards.Be courageous enough to buy quality stocks in small amounts and accumulate to average.

Movie review :Dasavatharam- A final attempt by Kamal Haasan?

Viewer got exited before the release of Dhasavatharam but vexed at the end.Why should there be ten avatars. What does Kamal want to convey to the viewers.Whether he thinks he is the only actor who can act those roles. He could have done 10 more films with each charactors individually. This film will not go well as of Avvai shanmugi,Indian or mickale madana..., 10 is too much to accept all of them have no precise roles in the film.
Final result will be average if we want to comapare the costly film with another costly film Sivaji released last year.Appreciatable effort but not worth.
Not all the songs of Himesh Reshmia are good but bgm by DeviSri Prasad is helping the movie.
Every one will want to see the movie atleast once so the success is assured is what director Ravikumar saying. We may not know the exact profit unless the producer coming out with details.
Overall , it is a one man show of Kamal Haasan that is well appreciated and he deserves every accolades.

Fixed deposits Losing Money Value

One year back when the inflation was at 5 to 6% ,Banks offered upto 8.5% interest to the fixed deposits. It was quite understandable that many risk averse people invested in fixed deposit schemes of the banks. But now the inflation nears double digit meaning there is no appreciation for the money invested. Also ,investors may not be able to withdraw money without some deduction in some banks and invest in new schemes.
We have floating interest method for the home loans in which the EMI payable will be adjusted with respct to the new interest rates.Likewise,Can't banks introduce deposit schemes with floating interest rate w.r.t inflationay rates. i.e calculating 2% above inflation every month/week/qtrly. We may gain or lose at the end.But the money value is protected against the current inflation.
Will RBI consider and recommend this option???

Inflation becomes the enemy of Indian Economy

When PM ,FM ,economists assured the people that we are on right track on the growth path we made to believe it.But now ,suddenly growth rate seems to take slow pace for what ever reasons. Global oil crisis is one of them. It is main source of energy. Global food shortage is another one. The world has forgotten farm industry. The real estate sector take the toll directly on the farm industry. The farming community should be assured of profits otherwise they are ready to sell their land for what ever price profitable to them.
Indian politicians should never forgot that farmers are the real pillars of the economy and they sholuld be protected at any cost.If we remember during pokran research,India was able to survive the west nations economic sanctions, only beause it did have enough food production in the country.
So, one must remember, abundant food production will always save the nation , not high rise buildings and huge bridges .Inflation will also be under control. Produce more elcetricity, more ethanol to reduce oil needs.

Markets to consolidate @ 4350 - 4500

After the sensex and nifty hammered heavily, it is time to consolidate.Long term players may want to invest now keeping 2-3 years view. But,certainly not for short term traders.
I believe the overall view is the present central gov. lost confidence among investors and the business community wants to see a change of guard as the present arrangement lacks decision making power. The left parties are the stumbling block to the gov. in many issues including nucleur pact with US.
So if one wants to make money he will have to wait till 2009 elections, but not sure if left parties will lose its crocodile tearing members.

cruel crude shock ,to touch 200$,Wake Up call.

Oil producing countries seems do not worry about their oil prices. They have only short term view.
Oil importing countries should wake up now. They must educate people how to live without crude oil. Food exports to these cruel countries should immediately be banned or prices be increased at par with oil prices.
Let every individual think about people living without petrol/diesel in future, after all, crude wells will dry up one day.
I have decided to walk as possible as I can .and buy a bi-cycle now which I sold some years back.May be it would cost more in future.
We can use bi-cycles for near by places like markets,Shopping.
I expect Government to increase the number of buses it operates and run it to all nook and corner of the city.Individual 4 wheeler owners must be discouraged by heavily charging for parking. There is no need for NANO cars . Dont give any tax sops to these cars.
Politicians should have right head to think about future generation and stop playing petty politics.

Will SEBI consider?

We have always seen the volatile stocks trading on the day of announcing quarterly results and weekly inflation ,gdp data .
Some companies announce results only at off market timings giving an opportunity for traders to go into the details before they make a decision.
Why not SEBI make it a rule . since insider traders may be aware of the results and play the game in their favour.
Will SEBI consider it?

Nifty and Sensex ,Weak market to continue till 2009

The indian bull market peaked to 6300 (Nifty) and sensex 21000 .Everyone was cheering and shouted buy ,buy and buy only without understanding the fact that the tree can not grow and touch the sky and many lost money due to greed. That was the time they realised that they should have been more careful in stock markets. It is a strange place where we get money purely on speculation without understanding the basics of companies that we bet on.
Now there seems to be a bear phase in the market.Well , how long will it continue.Surely, the sun has to come out in the morning (if the monsoon is not bad).
Time has gone that our markets has no relatives with the world markets. If there is stability outside ours will also stand to gain.
The present situation worldwide seem to be in a stress. More Job cuts ,food shortage, oil price rise, US elections everything counts.
But above all,Indian politics is in trouble. No decision makers in the government.Left compulsions, alliance problems, Populist schemes like loan waiver. The inflation put the Gov. in dark. They dont know what to do.What do they work for .. the next elections are round the corner.Even rs70000 cr loan waiver doesnt help the congress to grab power in the state elections. This may well be reflected in 2009 national election.
So... after all these problems are settled the markets will come back to the bull mood.
That is , we have to wait till the next general election.
But before that our nifty will toch 3950 and sensex 14000 levels that is where the rise started

Technical Analysis of stock market

Introduction to Technical Analysis

The methods used to analyze securities : Fundamental and Technial analysis.
Fundamental analysis involves analyzing value of order book its Balance sheet P/L account. Technical analysis doesn't care about the "value" of a company . It is only interested in the price movements in the market. studies supply and demand in a market in an attempt to determine what direction trend will continue in the future. That is, technical analysis attempts to understand the emotions in the market by studying the market itself. If you understand the benefits and limitations of technical analysis, it can give you a new set of tools or skills that will enable you to be a better trader.

Technical analysis is a method of forecasting price movements by looking at purely market-generated data. Price data from a particular market is most commonly the type of information analyzed by a technician, though most will also keep a close watch on volume and open interest in futures contracts. The bottom line when utilizing any type of analytical method, technical or otherwise, is to stick to the basics, which are methodologies with a proven track record over a long period. After finding a trading system that works for you, the more esoteric fields of study can then be incorporated into your trading toolbox. Almost every trader uses some form of technical analysis. Even the most reverent follower of market fundamentals is likely to glance at price charts before executing a trade. At their most basic level, these charts help traders determine ideal entry and exit points for a trade. They provide a visual representation of the historical price action of whatever is being studied. As such, traders can look at a chart and know if they are buying at a fair price (based on the price history of a particular market), selling at a cyclical top or perhaps throwing their capital into a choppy, sideways market. These are just a few market conditions that charts identify for a trader. Depending on their level of sophistication, charts can also help much more advanced studies of the markets. On the surface, it might appear that technicians ignore the fundamentals of the market while surrounding themselves with charts and data tables. However, a technical trader will tell you that all of the fundamentals are already represented in the price. They are not so much concerned that a natural disaster or an awful inflation number caused a recent spike in prices as much as how that price action fits into a pattern or trend. And much more to the point, how that pattern can be used to predict future prices. Technical analysis assumes that:
All market fundamentals are depicted in the actual market data. So the actual market fundamentals and various factors, such as the differing opinions, hopes, fears, and moods of market participants, need not be studied.

History repeats itself and therefore markets move in fairly predictable, or at least quantifiable, patterns. These patterns, generated by price movement, are called signals. The goal in technical analysis is to uncover the signals given off in a current market by examining past market signals.

Prices move in trends. Technicians typically do not believe that price fluctuations are random and unpredictable. Prices can move in one of three directions, up, down or sideways. Once a trend in any of these directions is established, it usually will continue for some period.
The building blocks of any technical analysis system include price charts, volume charts, and a host of other mathematical representations of market patterns and behaviors. Most often called studies, these mathematical manipulations of various types of market data are used to determine the strength and sustainability of a particular trend. So, rather than simply relying on price charts to forecast future market values, technicians will also use a variety of other technical tools before entering a trade. As in all other aspects of trading, be very disciplined when using technical analysis. Too often, a trader will fail to sell or buy into a market even after it has reached a price that his or her technical studies identified as an entry or exit point. This is because it is hard to screen out the fundamental realities that led to the price movement in the first place. As an example, let's assume you are long USD vs. euro and have established your stop/loss 30 pips away from your entry point. However, if some unforeseen factor is responsible for pushing the USD through your stop/loss level you might be inclined to hold this position just a bit longer in the hopes that it turns back into a winner. It is very hard to make the decision to cut your losses and even harder to resist the temptation to book profits too early on a winning trade. This is called leaving money on the table. A common mistake is to ride a loser too long in the hopes it comes back and to cut a winner way too early. If you use technical analysis to establish entry and exit levels, be very disciplined in following through on your original trading plan. Price charts Chart patternsThere are a variety of charts that show price action. The most common are bar charts. Each bar will represent one period of time and that period can be anything from one minute to one month to several years. These charts will show distinct price patterns that develop over time. Candlestick patternsLike bar charts patterns, candlestick patterns can be used to forecast the market. Because of their colored bodies, candlesticks provide greater visual detail in their chart patterns than bar charts. Point & figure patternsPoint and figure patterns are essentially the same patterns found in bar charts but Xs and Os are used to market changes in price direction. In addition, point and figure charts make no use of time scales to indicate the particular day associated with certain price action. Technical Indicators Here are a few of the more common types of indicators used in technical analysis: Trend indicatorsTrend is a term used to describe the persistence of price movement in one direction over time. Trends move in three directions: up, down and sideways. Trend indicators smooth variable price data to create a composite of market direction. (Example: Moving Averages, Trend lines) Strength indicatorsMarket strength describes the intensity of market opinion with reference to a price by examining the market positions taken by various market participants. Volume or open interest are the basic ingredients of this indicator. Their signals are coincident or leading the market. (Example: Volume) Volatility indicatorsVolatility is a general term used to describe the magnitude, or size, of day-to-day price fluctuations independent of their direction. Generally, changes in volatility tend to lead changes in prices. (Example: Bollinger Bands) Cycle indicatorsA cycle is a term to indicate repeating patterns of market movement, specific to recurrent events, such as seasons, elections, etc. Many markets have a tendency to move in cyclical patterns. Cycle indicators determine the timing of a particular market patterns. (Example: Elliott Wave) Support/resistance indicatorsSupport and resistance describes the price levels where markets repeatedly rise or fall and then reverse. This phenomenon is attributed to basic supply and demand. (Example: Trend Lines) Momentum indicatorsMomentum is a general term used to describe the speed at which prices move over a given time period. Momentum indicators determine the strength or weakness of a trend as it progresses over time. Momentum is highest at the beginning of a trend and lowest at trend turning points. Any divergence of directions in price and momentum is a warning of weakness; if price extremes occur with weak momentum, it signals an end of movement in that direction. If momentum is trending strongly and prices are flat, it signals a potential change in price direction. (Example: Stochastic, MACD, RSI)

A good understanding of the basic tenets of technical analysis can vastly improve one's trading skills.
When using technical analysis, price is the primary tool. Simply put, "everything is already in the rate." However, technical analysis involves a bit more than simply staring at price charts hoping to find a "yellow brick road" to a bonanza payday. Along with various methods of plotting price action on charts by using bars, candlesticks, and Xs and Os on point and figure charts, market technicians also employ many technical studies that help them to delve deeper into the data. By using these studies in conjunction with their price charts, traders are able to build much stronger cases to buy, sell or remain on the sidelines than they could by simply looking at price charts alone.

Here are descriptions of some of the more widely used and time-tested studies that technicians keep in their toolboxes:
Moving AveragesOne of the most basic and widely used indicators in a technical analyst's tool box, moving averages help traders verify existing trends, identify emerging trends, and view overextended trends about to reverse. Moving averages are lines overlaid on a chart indicating long term price trends with short term fluctuations smoothed out.

There are three basic types of moving averages:
Simple
Weighted
Exponential

A simple moving average gives equal weight to each price point over the specified period. The user defines whether the high, low, or close is used and these price points are added together and averaged. This average price point is then added to the existing string and a line is formed. With the addition of each new price point the sample set drops off the oldest point. The simple moving average is probably the most widely used moving average.

A weighted moving average gives more emphasis to the latest data. A weighted moving average multiplies each data point by a weighting factor which differs from day to day. These figures are added and divided by the sum of the weighting factors. A weighted moving average allows the user to successfully smooth out a curve while having the average more responsive to current price changes.

An exponential moving average is another way of "weighting" the more recent data. An exponential moving average multiplies a percentage of the most recent price by the previous period's average price. Defining the optimum moving average for a particular currency pair involves "curve fitting". Curve fitting is the process of selecting the right number of periods with the correct type of moving average to produce the results the user is trying to achieve. By trial and error, technicians work with the time periods to fit the price data.

Because the moving average is constantly changing based on the latest market data, many traders will use different "specified" time frames before they come up with a series of moving averages that are optimal for a particular currency.

For example, a trader might create a 5-day, a 15-day and a 30-day moving average for a currency and then plot them on his or her price chart. He might start out using simple moving averages and end up using weighted moving averages. In creating these moving averages, traders need to decide on the exact price data that will be used in this study; meaning closing prices vs. opening prices vs. high/low/close etc. After doing so, a series of lines are created that reflect the 5-day, 15-day and 30-day moving average of a currency.

Once the data is layered over a price chart, traders can determine how well these chosen periods keep track of the trend being followed. If, for example, a market is trending higher, you'd expect the 30-day moving average to be a very accurate trend line, providing a line of support for prices on their way higher. If prices seem too close under this 30-day moving average on several occasions without resulting in a halt in the up trend, a trader will simply adjust the time period to say a 45-day or 60-day moving average in order to optimize the average. In this way, the moving average will act as a trend line.

After determining the optimum moving average for a currency, this average price line can be used as a line of support in maintaining a long position or resistance in maintaining a short position. Breaches of this line can also be used as a signal that a currency is in the process of reversing course, in which case a trader will want to pare back an existing position or come up with entry levels for a new position. For example, if you determine that a 30-day moving average has shown itself to be a good support line for USD-JPY in an upward trending market, then market closes under this 30-day moving average line could be a signal that this trend could be running out of steam. However, it is important to wait for confirmation of these signals. One way to do this is to wait for another close below the level. On the second close under the average, you should begin to pare down your position. Another confirmation involves using other, shorter term moving averages.

While a longer term moving average can help to define and support a particular trend, shorter term moving averages can provide lead signals that a trend is ending before prices dip below your longer term moving average line. For this reason, most traders will plot several moving averages on the same chart. In a market that is trending higher, a shorter term moving average might signal a market reversal by turning down and crossing over the longer term moving average. For example, if you are using a 15-day and a 45-day moving average in a market that is in an up trend, and the 15-day moving average turns down and crosses over the 45-day moving average, this could be an early signal that the up trend is ending and it is probably time to begin to pare down your position.

StochasticsStochastic studies, or oscillators, are another useful tool for monitoring the expected sustainability of a trend. They provide a trader with information about the closing price in the current trading period relative to the prior performance of the instrument being analyzed.

Stochastics are measured and represented by two different lines, %K and %D and are plotted on a scale ranging from 0 to 100. Indications above 80 represent strong upward movement while level indications below 20 represent strong downward movements. The mathematics behind the studies are not as important as knowing what the stochastics are telling you. The %K line is the faster, more sensitive indicator while the %D line takes more time to turn. When the %K line crosses over the %D line, this could be an indication that a market is about to reverse course. Stochastic studies are not useful in choppy, sideways markets. At times when prices are fluctuating in a narrow range, the %K and %D lines might be crossing many different times and will be telling you nothing more than the market is moving sideways.

Stochastics are most useful in measuring the strength of a trend and as augurs of a coming reversal in prices. When prices are making new highs or lows and your stochastics are doing the same, you can be reasonably certain that the trend will continue. On the other hand, many traders finds that the best trading opportunity comes when their stochastic indicator is flattening out or moving in the opposite direction of prices. When these divergences occur, it's time to book profits and/or to establish a position in the opposite direction of the prior trend.
As should always be the case when using any technical tool, do not act on the first signal you see. Wait at least one or two trading sessions for confirmation of what the study is indicating before you commit to a position.

Relative Strength Index (RSI)RSI measures the momentum of price movements. It is also plotted on a scale ranging from 0 to 100. Traders will tend to look at RSI readings over 80 as an indicator of a market that is overbought or susceptible to a downturn, and readings under 20 as a market that is oversold or ready to turn higher.

This logic therefore implies that prices cannot rise or fall forever and that by using an RSI study, one can determine with a reasonable degree of certainty when a reversal will come about. However, be very wary of trading on RSI studies alone. In many instances, an RSI can remain at very lofty or sunken levels for quite a while without prices reversing course. At these times, the RSI is simply telling you that a market is quite strong or quite weak and shows no signs of changing course.

RSI studies can be adjusted to whatever time sensitivity a trader feels necessary for his or her particular style. For instance, a 5-day RSI will be very sensitive and will tend to give many more signals, not all of them sustainable, than say a 21-day RSI, which will tend to be less choppy. As with other studies, try a variety of time periods for the currency that you are trading based on your trading style. Longer term, position type traders, will tend to find that shorter time frames used for an RSI (or any other study for that matter) will give too many signals and will result in over-trading. On the other hand, shorter time frames will probably be ideal for day-traders trying to capture many shorter-term price fluctuations.

As with stochastics, look for divergences between prices and the RSI. If your RSI turns up in a slumping market or turns down during a bull run, this could be a good indication that a reversal is just around the corner. Wait for confirmation before you act on divergent indications from your RSI studies.

Bollinger BandsBollinger Bands are volatility curves used to identify extreme highs or lows in relation to price. Bollinger Bands establish trading parameters, or bands, based on the moving average of a particular instrument and a set number of standard deviations around this moving average.

For example, a trader might decide to use a 10-day moving average and 2 standard deviations to establish Bollinger Bands for a given currency. After doing so, a chart will appear with price bars capped by an upper boundary line based on price levels 2 standard deviations higher than the 10-day moving average and supported by a lower boundary line based on 2 standard deviations lower than the 10-day moving average. In the middle of these two boundary lines will be another line running somewhat close to the middle area depicting in this case, the 10-day moving average. Both the moving average and the number of standard deviations can be altered to best suit a particular currency.

Jon Bollinger, creator of Bollinger Bands recommends using a simple 20-day moving average and 2 standard deviations. Because standard deviation is a measure of volatility, Bollinger Bands are dynamic indicators that adjust themselves (widen and contract) based on the current levels of volatility in the market being studied. When prices hit the upper or lower boundaries of a given set of Bollinger Bands, this is not necessarily an indication of an imminent reversal in a trend. It simply means that prices have moved to the upper limits of the established parameters. Therefore, traders should use another study in conjunction with Bollinger Bands to help them determine the strength of a trend.

MACD - Moving Average Convergence DivergenceMACD is a more detailed method of using moving averages to find trading signals from price charts. Developed by Gerald Appel, the MACD plots the difference between a 26-day exponential moving average and a 12-day exponential moving average. A 9-day moving average is generally used as a trigger line, meaning when the MACD crosses below this trigger it is a bearish signal and when it crosses above it, it's a bullish signal.

As with other studies, traders will look to MACD studies to provide early signals or divergences between market prices and a technical indicator. If the MACD turns positive and makes higher lows while prices are still tanking, this could be a strong buy signal. Conversely, if the MACD makes lower highs while prices are making new highs, this could be a strong bearish divergence and a sell signal.

Fibonacci RetracementsFibonacci retracement levels are a sequence of numbers discovered by the noted mathematician Leonardo da Pisa during the twelfth century. These numbers describe cycles found throughout nature and when applied to technical analysis can be used to find pullbacks in the currency market.

Fibonacci retracement involves anticipating changes in trends as prices near the lines created by the Fibonacci studies. After a significant price move (either up or down), prices will often retrace a significant portion (if not all) of the original move. As prices retrace, support and resistance levels often occur at or near the Fibonacci Retracement levels.

In the currency markets, the commonly used sequence of ratios is 23.6 %, 38.2%, 50% and 61.8%. Fibonacci retracement levels can easily be displayed by connecting a trend line from a perceived high point to a perceived low point. By taking the difference between the high and low, the user can apply the % ratios to achieve the desired pullbacks.

One final word of advice: Don't get too caught up in the mathematics involved in putting together each study. It is much more important to understand how and why studies can and should be manipulated based on the time periods and sensitivities that you determine are ideal for the currency you are trading. These ideal levels can only be determined after applying several different parameters to each study until the charts and studies begin to reveal the "details behind the details."

Technical analysis is research of market dynamics that is done mainly with the help of charts and with the purpose of forecasting future price development. Technical analysis comprises several approaches to the study of price movement which are interconnected in the framework of one harmonious theory. This type of analysis studies the price movement on the market by means of analyzing three market factors: price, volumes, and, in case of study of futures contracts’ market, of an open interest (number of open positions). Of these three factors the primary one for technical analysis is the prices, while the alterations in other factors are studies mainly in order to confirm the correctness of the identified price trend. This technical theory, just like any theory, has its core postulates.

Technical analysts base their research on the following three axioms:
Market movement considers everythingThis is the most important postulate of technical analysis. It is crucial to understand it in order to grasp rightly the procedures of analysis. The gist of it is that any factor that influences the price of securities, whether economic, political, or psychological, has already been taken into account and reflected in the price chart. In other words, every price change is accompanied by a change in external factors. The main inference of this premise is the necessity to follow closely the price movements and analyze them. By means of analyzing price charts and multiple other indicators, a technical analyst comes to the point that the market itself shows to her/him the trend it will most likely follow.
This premise is in conflict with fundamental analysis where the attention is primarily paid to the study of factors, and later on, after the analysis of the factors, to conclusions as to the market trends are made. Thus, if the demand is higher than the supply, a fundamental analyst will come to the conclusion that the price will grow. Technical analyst, however, makes her/his conclusions in the opposite sequence: since the price has grown, it means the demand is higher than the supply.

The prices move with the trendThis assumption is the basis for all methods of technical analysis, as a market that moves in accordance with trends can be analyzed, unlike a chaotic market. The postulate that the price movement is a result of a trend has two effects. The first one implies that the current trend will most likely continue and will not reverse itself, thus, excluding disorderly chaotic movement of the market. The second one implies that the current trend will go on until the opposite trend sets in.

The history repeats itselfTechnical analysis and studies of market dynamics are closely related to the studies of human psychology. Thus, the graphical price models identified and classified within the last hundred years depict core characteristics of the psychological state of the market. First of all, they show the moods currently prevailing in the market, whether bullish or bearish. Since these models worked in the past, we have reasons to suppose that they will work in the future, for they are based on human psychology which remains almost unchaged over years. We can reword the last postulate — the story repeats itself — in a slightly different way: the key to understanding the future lies in the studies of the past.
