The Indian government is spending lot of amount for th1 2010 population census and national Id program.
Here is a suggestion: The citizen can be allowed to enter his details thru' on line web site.There after a offcer can come and verify the details either directly or any other means like authenticating thru post.I think atleast 30% of population would be covered this way and the rest can be taken directly.
